Lanstone Hertiage Regeneration Day A Success

Lanstone's Heritage Regeneration Open Event has been a huge success. The opportuniy was taken to present two of our masons with 'Hertiage Skills Stonemasonry NVQ Lv 3' Certificates, an achievement that we are very proud of.

Holy Trinity Micklegate

Restoration works are underway at Holy Trinity Church in Micklegate, which was founded prior to the Norman invasion of 1066, and is listed in the Domesday Book of 1086 as one of five great northern churches (alongside, amongst others, York Minster). Lanstone Conservation, York based, Heritage and Listed Building Restoration specialists have been instructed to carry out the project which is due to last five weeks and will involve renewal works of decayed shafts to the blind arcades on the West Front, repairs to the niches on the West side of the Tower, renewal of decayed stonework in the surround of the North door and adjacent wall, as well as the decayed section of hood mould in the Tower West window.

Completion at Christ Church, Staincliffe

In November 2011 Lanstone Conservation completed a substantial restoration project on Christ Church in Staincliffe, West Yorkshire. Worked comprised of; renewal of roof covering Chancel, South Aisle and Tower with localised repairs to the Porches and Nave roofs; renewal of perished stonework including tracery and pointing works to the external envelope of the East Elevation, South Aisle, South Clerestory, South Chancel and Tower, works to site drainage and re-plastering damaged plaster work to the chancel interior.

Charity Day

With a combination of tight budgets and grants being cut, many historical buildings are not getting the attention they need, in view of this the staff at Lanstone Conservation felt compelled to help and are looking to dedicate a whole day to providing general maintenance and stonework for a Church or similar historical building or site.
